About PromptCast
PromptCast is a dead simple teleprompter intended for use when recording webcam video and/or screencasts. Put your webcam under your monitor and position PromptCast right above it to make your recordings easier and give give them that professional touch.
How It Works
Type (or paste) your script into the main text area. You can add formatting using the font, alignment and bullet-list buttons, and you can open or save your scripts using the open and save buttons. When you're ready to do your recording, position the PromptCast window near your webcam and switch to "Prompt Mode" by clicking the Prompt Mode button. Now you can use the playback buttons to control the scrolling of your script. If clicking the mouse is too loud, you can also use the shortcut keys that are listed when you hover over the buttons instead. Finally, if PromptCast is taking up too much desktop space, click the Hide Toolbar button to tidy things up (Press [Esc] to show it again). If you keep the window small and close to your webcam, you should be able to read your script while having it appear as though you're looking directly at your audience.
